Schindler’s Factory (Poland)

Schindler’s Factory (Polish: Fabryka Emalia Oskara Schindlera) is a museum in Kraków, Poland, located at 4 Lipowa Street in the Podgórze district.

The factory was founded by Oskar Schindler, a German industrialist and member of the Nazi Party.

During World War II, he saved over a thousand Jews by employing them in his enamel and ammunition factory.

The jobs protected the workers from being sent to concentration camps.

Schindler’s story was made famous by Steven Spielberg’s film Schindler’s List (1993).

Schindler was later honored as “Righteous Among the Nations” by Israel’s Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial.
