The raccoon dog (Nyctereutes procyonoides) is a small canine species native to East Asia. It has migrated to Finland from the Karelian Isthmus and the northern part of Lake Ladoga. It is now considered an invasive species in Finland. The raccoon dog eats a lot of plant food and can hibernate.
