Vanhankaupunginkoski

Vanhankaupunginkoski is a culturally and historically significant rapid at the mouth of the Vantaanjoki River in the northern part of Helsinki’s Vanhankaupunginselkä district

The rapids were originally called Helsinge fors, or Helsinginkoski, on the banks of which the city of Helsinki was founded in 1550. The rapids are located in the Vanhankaupungin district.
